The kindergartens of the “Ohr Hashalom” Institutions were inaugurated in 1997 with a vision to instill a Jewish education with values from an early age, and to provide children with a solid spiritual, educational and emotional foundation. Since then, the kindergartens have expanded and become leading educational establishments in the vicinity, currently serving approximately 110 boys aged 3-5.
The curriculum in the kindergartens is unique and innovative, and combines the foundations of Torah and massoret with the ethical values of good manners and character building. Alongside this, emphasis is placed on developing the children’s natural curiosity, encouragement of independent thinking, and experiential learning. The children enjoy a variety of enriching pursuits such as stories from the sages, traditional songs, creative activities and play, while acquiring basic skills that prepare them for the continuation of their educational path.
We believe that quality education begins with a quality educational team. Therefore, both kindergarten teachers and male instructors are selected with great care, with an emphasis on experience, professionalism and uncompromising dedication. We make no concessions as regards the quality of teaching and instruction, being careful to recruit the best possible team of teachers having a high-level pedagogical background, rich experience, and the ability to connect with children at eye level. To ensure this quality level of teaching, we invest many resources and pay high salaries, with the aim of attracting the leading educators in their field. We are not satisfied with recruiting cheap or inexperienced staff, but strive to give children the best – because every Jewish child deserves to receive an education at the highest level.
Each boy receives personal, warm and loving attention, tailored to his unique needs. Kindergarten teachers and educators devote time and thought to each and every child, nurturing his inborn creativity and promoting his self-confidence. The kindergartens place special emphasis on values such as mutual respect, helping others, and love of one’s fellow-Jews. We strive to provide the children with not only a profound spiritual and academic education, but also tools for life – emotional resilience, self-confidence, a sense of belonging to the community and a love for Jewish tradition.
The “Ohr Hashalom” kindergartens are much more than an educational setting; they are a warm, supportive, and educational home, which constitutes fertile ground for the growth of a splendid coming generation.
